OK, is this an Altec 809-8A speaker or is he assuming so based on the XO's model number and/or is it really an Altec or an Altec labeled EV model?

My WAG, and completely a WAG is that it's a one of a kind "hybrid" pair composed of various components the creator had at his disposal at the time of conception.
Don't y'all think the 809 XO's and Altec nameplates were probably cannibalized from a pair of 12XX's?
So long as unwary bidders don't actually take them for a truly rare Altec product and drive the bid up unwittingly, they're probably an opportunity for someone to get some good parts at a fair price if they're local.

I share Bowtie's opinion. Home brew. I do not believe that Altec EVER used that particular peizo. And the 15's would have said er-15 not EVM 15-L.

Even this guy couldn't find enough of those velcro fasteners for the grill. There's only two on each box.
I'd almost buy them for the spare grill attachments.
